Dr. Holly M. Fruehwald
Principal Investigator
Dr. Fruehwald joined the Faculty of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University in September 2025. She holds a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (2022), and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the same University. Her PhD research focused on the development of non-noble materials for electrochemical energy systems such as fuel cell and electrolyzer. She was awarded an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2022, where she studied advanced structural characterization techniques for solid state materials at the University of Waterloo. Prior to joining Laurier, she was a Research Officer at the National Research Council of Canada working at the Clean Energy Innovation Research Center in Mississauga. Her research interests remain in clean electrochemical energy systems, and materials characterization.
